Frequently Asked Questions
What if I end up needing an extra session?
You can always schedule extra sessions during the week - if you have a Tutoring Package, they will be added to the next month's bill at a prorated amount.
What if my session goes over-time or I need a longer session?
If sessions surpass 50 minutes, the extra time is prorated. If you have a Tutoring Package, it will be added to the next month's bill.
If you need to schedule a session longer than 50 minutes, I might be able to accommodate depending on my schedule - please feel free to ask!
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Things happen! If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I ask that you give at least 24 hours' notice if possible by canceling through the Portal or reaching out to me directly at 843-640-5789 or marina@tessellatetutoring.com.
Cancellations within 2-24 hours of a session are subject to a Cancellation Fee. No-shows or cancellations with less than 2 hours' notice are subject to a Late Cancellation / No Show Fee.
I understand things happen outside our control, so I may grant exceptions for sickness and/or emergencies.

If you have a Tutoring Package
Rescheduling is not guaranteed, but I'll do my best to offer alternative options when possible. Each package includes a few built-in "weeks off" per semester for times when rescheduling isn't feasible or isn't needed. In certain special or extenuating circumstances, I may grant Makeup Credits to be used in later months.
What about Holidays and Vacations?
The Pricing for Tutoring Packages includes 1 built-in "week off" for you and 1 built-in "week off" for me per semester. These are for when you or I need to miss a session and can't find a time to reschedule. They may be used for vacations, holidays, illness, or anything else.
Summer Break & Winter Break
For the months of May, August, and December, "Half" Tutoring Packages may be purchased if you only plan to do tutoring for one half of the month.
If you purchase a full month package in those months instead of a half, you can choose to spread the sessions out during the month into your winter or summer break, depending on our mutual availability, or you can condense the sessions into the time school is in session (this can be great for extra Exam review sessions!)
I do have tutoring availability in the summer months and strongly encourage scheduling at least a few sessions between school years to keep your student's math mind fresh, get caught up, or even get ahead for the next school year. You can schedule one-off sessions with "Flexible Tutoring" pricing, or we can arrange a Monthly or Summer Package for you with flexibility for any vacations you or I may take.
How do I pay?
Tuition may be paid by Credit, Debit, Cash, or Check. We can even set up Autopay.
Flexible Tutoring
Invoices for Flexible Tutoring sessions go out every Friday for the previous week's session(s). Payment is due by the following Friday.
Tutoring Packages
Payment for Tutoring Packages is charged to your credit card on file through AutoPay on the 1st of the month.
What if I can't afford these rates?
I keep a few spaces open each semester for reduced tuition for families in need of assistance. If you are not able to afford these rates, please contact me.
